Elmhurst Woman Launches Wheelchair Van Fundraiser

She said her van with a ramp broke down. She needs a new one.

ELMHURST, IL – A 31-year-old Elmhurst woman who relies on a wheelchair is raising money to help pay for a new van.

GoFundMe alerted Patch to the fundraiser.

On GoFundMe, resident Kelly Langosch said her ramp van broke down and that she could no longer get her motorized chair in her car.

"As you can imagine, this is severely affecting my independence & my ability to go places," Langosch said on the page. "It’s not easy for people to lift my manual chair/push me around. I am trying to buy a new ramp van, so I can get back to my independent self, but I need some help!"

Langosch, who started the page four days ago, has raised $150 as of Monday morning. Her goal is $35,000.
