Elmhurst's Highest Home Sales Price On Record: Report

ELMHURST, IL — Built in 2012, a house on Elmhurst's South Street sold for $3.3 million last week. That makes it the highest home sales price on record in Elmhurst, according to Crain's Chicago Business.

The house is at 207 South St., with six bedrooms and 7½ bathrooms, according to real estate websites. It covers 9,450 square feet and features an in-ground pool, a half basketball court and a four-car heated garage. It sold last Friday.

Crain's reported that the previous Elmhurst record was in 2017, when a house on the same street sold for $3 million. Built in 2006, the 9,800-square-foot house at 217 South St. also consists of six bedrooms and 7½ bathrooms.

South Street is parallel with the Illinois Prairie Path. The street is also near Washington Park and Wild Meadows Trace park.

The median house price in Elmhurst is $432,000, according to the U.S. Census. That's more than double the state's median, which is $195,000. Hinsdale, meanwhile, is near the top of the charts at $885,000.
