Felon Robs Oak Brook Gas Station, Gets Violent: Cops
The man, who pointed a gun at the clerk, was on parole for aggravated armed robbery, authorities said.

OAK BROOK, IL – A mask-wearing convicted felon robbed an Oak Brook convenience station earlier this month, getting violent with the clerk, authorities said.
About 9 p.m. Nov. 9, Jamion Winters, 34, of Maywood, pointed a gun at the clerk and ordered, "Give me the money. Open it. Open it, and sit down," police said.
Winters pushed the clerk to the floor, according to a news release from DuPage County prosecutors.

When the clerk got up, Winters grabbed him and moved him to the cash registers, where the clerk opened them, police said.
Winters is accused of stealing $457 from the two registers, police said.

Authorities said they identified Winters and arrested him in a traffic stop on Wednesday.
Police said Winters was on parole for aggravated robbery.
For the Oak Brook case, Winters was charged with armed robbery and unlawful possession of a firearm by a repeat felony offender.
DuPage County Judge George Ford ordered Winters to stay in jail until his trial.
"Relentless, old-fashioned police work is what brought this violent repeat armed robbery offender into custody," Oak Brook Police Chief Brian Strockis said in the news release.
