Fraudulent Returns At Elmhurst Store; Pair Arrested: Police
In another case, an Elmhurst man was arrested on a domestic battery charge.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police arrested people on charges of felony theft, domestic battery, trespassing and DUI. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst arrest log:
Fraudulent returns
- Germaine E. Sanders, 32, of Cypress, Texas, and Veronica Kiana Jones, 29, of Spring, Texas, were arrested Friday on charges of felony theft by deception. Police said they stole merchandise by completing fraudulent returns at the At Home store, 265 S. Route 83. They were taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Domestic battery

- A 33-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 200 block of North Bonnie Brae Avenue was arrested about 11:30 p.m. Friday at his house on a domestic battery charge. Police said the man battered a woman during an argument. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
- A 35-year-old Melrose Park man was arrested about 4 a.m. Saturday at the Lakehurst Commons apartment complex, 170 E. Lake St., on two counts of domestic battery and one count of criminal property damage. Police said the man entered a home and destroyed property inside. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Trespassing
- A 30-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 1 p.m. Friday at Interstate 290 and North Avenue on a charge of criminal trespassing to a motor vehicle. He was released.
Aggravated driving with revoked license

- Tamika L. Hawkins, 45, of Chicago, was arrested about 8 p.m. Sunday at North and Maple avenues on charges of aggravated driving with a revoked license, driving a car while using a phone, and driving an uninsured car. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
DUI
- A 55-year-old Villa Park man was arrested about 9:30 p.m. Friday at Commonwealth Lane and Butterfield Road on charges of DUI, improper lane usage and driving an uninsured car. He was taken to the police station and then released.
- A 27-year-old McKinney, Texas, man was arrested about 11 p.m. Sunday in the 100 block of West Grand Avenue on charges of DUI, reckless driving, failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash and driving an uninsured car. Police said the man hit a parked car and a fire hydrant. He was taken to the police station and then released.
