Getting Trimmed, Then Bailing In Elmhurst: Cops
In another case, a DUI suspect ran away from officers, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving theft of services, aggravated DUI, resisting officers, attempted retail theft, DUI and an unconscious person. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Theft of beard-trimming services
- A man got his beard trimmed about 1 p.m. Tuesday at Fadez Chicago, 350 N. York St. He claimed to make a payment through Zelle and then left the business. The crime was considered a theft of services. An investigation is pending.
Aggravated DUI, Resisting

- Humberto Arriaga Garduño, 23, of Chicago, was arrested about 6 a.m. Wednesday at Grand and Wilson avenues on charges of aggravated DUI, resisting officers, leaving the scene of an accident, transportation of open alcohol, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, unlawful marijuana possession, failure to wear a seatbelt, driving an uninsured car, improper lane usage and failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash. In the same incident, a 19-year-old Chicago woman was arrested on charges of assault, obstructing an officer, possession of alcohol by a minor, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and unlawful marijuana possession. Both the man and the woman ran away from officers. They were both released.
Attempted retail theft
- A 22-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 400 block of Berteau Avenue was arrested about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday on an attempted retail theft charge. Police said the incident occurred at Jewel, 153 E. Schiller St. Police said they responded to a theft in progress and found the man outside. The man admitted to trying to steal a bottle of alcohol. He was released.
DUI

- A 32-year-old San Jose, California, woman was arrested about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 300 block of South Cottage Hill Avenue on charges of DUI, improper lane usage and driving an uninsured car. She was taken to the police station and then released.
Retail theft
- A person stole merchandise between 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday at Goodwill Store, 675 W. North Ave. An investigation is pending.
Unconscious person
- Police were called about an unconscious person shortly before 3 p.m. Monday at Walgreens, 160 N. Robert Palmer Drive. The person was taken to Elmhurst Hospital.
Refused to leave
- A man refused to leave Elmhurst Hospital about 4 p.m. Tuesday. The man refused to identify himself to officers. He was told not to return to the hospital; a no-trespass notice was served.
