Glen Ellyn House Fire Leaves One Resident Dead

The identity of the deceased is still unknown. No foul play has been suspected.

Following a house fire in unincorporated Glen Ellyn, the DuPage County Coroner’s Office and Sheriff’s Department are investigating the death of one resident.

Around 4 a.m. Monday morning, the sheriff’s department and Lisle-Woodridge Fire Department responded to a 911 call about a residential fire at 22 W. 517 Tamarack Dr., the coroner’s office reported.

The home is located in the Valley View subdivision of Milton Township.

The one-story home was “engulfed in flames” once firemen got there, the release from the coroner’s office states. The fire was extinguished and it was then that firemen entered the building and someone inside. They person wasn't showing any vital signs.

The coroner arrived at the scene and pronounced the individual, whose gender and identity are still unknown, dead at 7:45 a.m. An autopsy is scheduled for today.

Officials reported there isn’t any suspicion of foul play surrounding the incident.
