Gun Implied In Elmhurst Road Rage: Report

The driver denied displaying a weapon, though police said they found an airsoft gun.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police arrested people on charges of battery, disorderly conduct, domestic battery, false identifications and DUI. Here is information from the reports:

Road rage

  • A 20-year-old Addison man was arrested shortly before noon Wednesday at St. Charles Road and Route 83 on an attempted disorderly conduct charge. During a road rage incident, the victim said the 20-year-old flashed a gun, police said. But the 20-year-old denied having a gun and that he only raised his black phone. Upon a search, police said they found a black Colt Defender airsoft gun in the 20-year-old's backpack. He was released.

Battery

  • A 49-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 600 block of North Kenilworth Avenue was arrested about 9 p.m. Wednesday in the 500 block of North Indiana Street on charges of a count of battery and two counts each of disorderly conduct and obstructing a police officer. Police said the man pushed another man. The 49-year-old was released.

Domestic battery

  • A 24-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 15W600 block of Virginia Lane was arrested about 1 a.m. Thursday in the 900 block of North York Street on four counts of domestic battery and a count of battery. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

False identifications

  • Two 18-year-old Addison women were cited about 9:30 p.m. Saturday at Buffalo Wild Wings, 149 N. York St., on charges of using false identifications to buy alcohol.

DUI

  • A 51-year-old Arlington Heights man was arrested about 12:30 a.m. Thursday at Grantley Avenue and York Street on charges of DUI, obstructing a police officer, driving without a license plate light and having no front license plate. He was taken to the police station and then released.
  • A 57-year-old Burr Ridge man was arrested shortly after midnight Sunday at Route 83 and Riverside Drive on charges of DUI, speeding and improper lane usage. He was taken to the police station and then released.
