"Given the unique challenges presented this year, we cannot confidently recommend hosting fireworks in 2025."
ITASCA, IL — A fireworks show historically billed as the largest in the state is canceled this year.
The village of Itasca in March announced the cancellation of its annual Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration at Hamilton Lakes Business Park, citing logistical issues presented by summer construction scheduled around the area.
"This was an extremely difficult decision to make," Village Administrator Carie Anne Ergo said, according to a village news release.
