ELMHURST, IL – Joyce Catherine Fischer, nee Frost, age 83, of Elmhurst. Beloved wife of the late Gary Loy Fischer; loving mother of Kevin (Sandra) Fischer and Craig (Laurie) Fischer; devoted grandmother of Katie (Fiancé Patrick), Jacob (Fianceé Olivia), Abby, Lauren, Maddie, and Kayla; fond sister of Sharon (Harold) Slinkman; sister-in-law of the late Lynn (Linda) Fischer, Caroline (Randy) Romine, Rosalee Wade; aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Joyce was a faithful Christian who loved her Savior. She shared her talents with everyone and had a unique gift of connecting with both the young and old. Her passion was in women's and children's ministries at her church where she served as a teacher, superintendent and ministry leader.

She spent her professional life teaching. As an educator at Roosevelt and Emerson Elementary Schools in Elmhurst and Lowell Elementary in Wheaton she was respected by colleagues and loved by her students.

As an avid fan of many sports she especially enjoyed baseball and loved her Cubbies.

Memorial Gathering Saturday, November 11th, 10am until time of service at 12pm at Lombard Christian Reformed Church, 2020 S. Meyers Rd, Lombard. Interment private. Memorials to Alzheimer's Association are appreciated. For info: www.knollcrest.net or 630-932-1500.
