Late Worker Lies To Elmhurst Cops About Robbery: Authorities
The man made up the story to his boss and then told the police, according to a report. He now faces a felony charge.

ELMHURST, IL – A Summit man who lied to Elmhurst officers about being robbed on a local street Tuesday was charged, police said.
Mynor D. Ramos, 27, told police that he was held up about 8:30 a.m. near Butterfield Road and Euclid Avenue, according to a news release.
Ramos said he was walking to a construction site when two men displayed a handgun and stole his phone and backpack, police said. Ramos reported the incident nearly three hours later.

Police said they were able to pick up clues that Ramos may have been lying:
- The lack of an explanation for waiting three hours to report the crime.
- The changing story on which way the suspects fled.
- Bryan Middle School's security cameras, which cover the area in question, showed no sign of the incident.
Once Ramos' supposedly stolen backpack was found at his job site, he confessed to making up the story, police said.
