How did the business come to be?

My wife Cathy was promoting her book written for other parents called "The Self Aware Parent" when an internet radio station asked her if she's be interested in hosting her own show. She was excited at the possibility, but they required her to find a co-host. So without even consulting me, she threw my name in there. It was scary and exciting all at the same time. So Zen Parenting Radio (zenparentingradio.com) came to be. It's a weekly discussion where we discuss self awareness and how that leads to a more compassionate and connected relationship with our children.

Why did you choose the area you did?

Cathy is a therapist and coach and she's been working with parents for over 12 years. She is more spiritual in her approach and I am more practical, and together we discuss how to utilize both our skills to parent in a balanced way - we have 3 daughters, 10, 8, and 5.

What does your business offer?

A place where other parents can easily tune in each week to connect with any of the ideas we discuss on the show. Cathy is also a presenter for groups and organizations - book clubs, PTA, MOPS, etc. Together — we also present to couples on a whole variety of topics — communication between couples, talking to kids about sex, etc. A list of topics can be found on Cathy's website at cathycassaniadams.com/speaking-presentations. What is a fact about your business most customers probably do not know?

We tend to become very tangential. We love to talk movies and music and make each other laugh.
