Metra Train Fatally Hit Pedestrian in Villa Park

Villa Park, IL - A pedestrian was hit Monday morning by Metra Union Pacific West Train No. 44 in Villa Park, according to Metra.

The DuPage County coroner’s office confirmed the pedestrian died, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.

The pedestrian was a woman, according to the Daily Herald, and she was hit around 11:15 a.m. She has not yet been identified.

Inbound and outbound trains were stopped near Villa Park, and delays have carried on though the afternoon since operations have resumed, Metra reported.

Another pedestrian was also hit and killed by a Metra train Monday morning in Bartlett, the Chicago Tribune reports.
