Oak Brook Roads to Close for Protests
Road closures are tentatively scheduled for May 25 and 26.

Oak Brook, IL - Several roads in Oak Brook will close May 25 and 26 as the Service Employees International Union holds two demonstrations in support of the campaign to increase the minimum wage of restaurant employees.
The demonstrations are scheduled to take place May 25 and 26, according to the Oak Brook Police Department.

May 25
- Demonstrators to march on 22nd Street from York to McDonalds Drive, causing westbound 22nd Street to be closed.
- Demonstrators to rally on McDonalds Drive between 22nd Street and Commerce
- 3:30 to 6 p.m.: westbound 22nd Street closed at York to Spring Road.
- 3 to 8 p.m.: McDonalds Drive closed from Commerce to 22nd Street
May 26

- Demonstrators to march and protest on northbound Jorie Boulevard between Forest Gate to Kensington
- 6 to 11 a.m.: Northbound Jorie Boulevard closed from Forest Gate to Kensington.
- The demonstrators are expected to clear the area by about 11 p.m.
The Oak Brook Police Department will have resources in place in case of emergencies. Residents and building managers are advised to allow for traffic delays.
