O'Hare and Midway Feel Ripple Effect of East Coast Snowstorm
Historic blizzard disrupts 5,000 flights. More than 150 flights cancelled at O'Hare.

The world’s busiest airport will be deeply affected by the historic blizzard coming down on the East Coast. Already, O’Hare International has cancelled more than 150 flights, reports the Chicago Department of Aviation, and about two dozen have been cancelled at Midway Airport.
More than 5,000 flights scheduled to take off or land on the East Coast have been cancelled for Monday and Tuesday as 18 inches to 3 feet of snow is predicted.
Chicago’s snow total is reported to be less than an inch, according to the National Weather Service, but Monday night could see some freezing drizzle.

As of Monday morning, O’Hare is reporting little in the way of flight delays, however, according to the Department of Aviation. About 100 flights were cancelled on Sunday due to inclement weather.
Chicago-based United Airlines cancelled all flights in New York, Philadelphia and Boston. Half of all flights out of LaGuardia Airport in New York were cancelled.
