Elmhurst Public Library at the Farmers Market: Bring your Elmhurst Public Library card to the Elmhurst Farmers Market between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. to check out books from the "seasonal selections."

Thursday, Aug. 8

• Middle School Night at the Pool: Sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders: Come to East End Pool, get down with DJ Stevie D and dance and swim with your friends from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. Drinks and snacks will be available for purchase. All participants must be registered by a parent in order to attend. Cost is $3 in advance, $5 at the door.

• Ladies Night at Wilder Mansion: Ladies! Grab your friends and enjoy hor d’oeuvres, chocolates, and a complimentary glass of wine at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8. Admission is $20 for residents, $25 for nonresidents.

Friday, Aug. 9

• A vintage car show will be held Friday at Lexington Square of Elmhurst from 5 to 8 p.m. The event, which is free and open to the public, will feature members’ cars from Cadillac-LaSalle, West of the Lake Region.

• Kids can play chess, Pokemon and Yugioh at Elmhurst the Public Library's Kids library Friday.
