Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Metra Train in Elmhurst Friday Afternoon
Delays on Union Pacific West line near an hour.
Update:
The pedestrian who was struck Friday afternoon by the No. 52 inbound Metra train has died, according to Kassondra Schref, spokesperson for the City of Elmhurst.
The body has been removed from the scene, and police are still investigating the collision.

As of about 6 p.m., two out of three tracks were open and running inbound and outbound trains. The third track remains closed for now, Schref said.

A pedestrian was struck by a Metra train on the Union Pacific West Line Friday afternoon at about 3:15, near the Elmhurst Station at the junction of York and Park. Trains were halted for a while, and resumed service at about 4:45 p.m., according to Metra, with delays of at 50 minutes.
