ELMHURST, IL – A fall from a balcony, dog bites, littering and a burglary were among the latest items on the local police blotter. Here is information from the reports:

Fall from balcony

  • A person fell from a balcony about 6:30 p.m. Monday. Police did not pinpoint the place. The person was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove. An investigation is pending.

  • A woman told police that she was walking her dog about 4 p.m. Monday in the 300 block of West Utley Road when another person's dog ran out of a house and bit her and her dog. A DuPage County animal bite report was completed.
  • A man told police that while walking his dog about 6:30 p.m. Monday in the 600 block of South Linden Avenue, a woman on the other side of the street was walking two dogs. The other dogs got off their leashes and attacked the man and his dog. He was bitten on the ankle, and his dog was bitten on its tail. A DuPage County animal bite report was completed.
  • A woman told police that she was walking her dog when a German shepherd approached and bit her dog's chest about 7 a.m. Feb. 11 in the 600 block of South York Street. She reported the incident Wednesday.

Littering

  • A man threw beer cans from a car onto a front yard about 2 p.m. Wednesday in the 500 block of West Comstock Avenue. The car was a gold Chevrolet Equinox SUV.

Burglary

  • Someone broke into a backyard shed and stole a woman's chainsaw Aug. 2 in the 700 block of North Michigan Avenue. The crime was reported Wednesday. An investigation is pending.
