Phone Store Manager Helps Catch Identity Thief: Police
A woman tried to use a fake ID to buy phone lines and equipment.

A Verizon employee became suspicious Dec. 11 when someone tried add two phone lines and buy phone equipment with out-of-state identification in the store in Elmhurst.
The store manager contacted the account holder, who said she was not in the store, according to Elmhurst police.
The manager called 911, and Brenny Calderon Polanc, 26 of Jessup Place in Bronx, New York, was arrested and taken to the police station, police reported.

She was charged with identity theft, unlawful possession of a fraudulent driver’s license and taken to DuPage County Jail.
