Photo-Taking Sparks Elmhurst Store Violence: Police
Elsewhere, a woman delivering flowers didn't get the greeting she expected, authorities said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a grocery store attack, dog bites, a battery and a car burglary. Here is information from Elmhurst police reports:
Grocery store attack
- A man told police that the driver of a gold Pontiac Grand Prix struck his parked car with a car door shortly after noon Sunday at Jewel, 944 S. York St. The man said he took a photo of the other man and his car. The suspect then got out of his car and threw the man to the ground. The victim did not wish to pursue charges and signed a form declining an investigation.
Dog bites

- A woman told police that she was bitten in the leg by a goldendoodle about 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the 400 block of North Maple Avenue. The woman was delivering flowers for Elmhurst's Carousel Flowers, 527 S. York St. She reported the bite two days later. The report was sent to DuPage County Animal Services.
- A woman told police that her dog was bitten on the neck by another dog about 7 p.m. Saturday in the 400 block of East Park Avenue. The dog was not heavily injured. The report was sent to DuPage County Animal Services.
Battery
- Police responded to a battery about 2:30 a.m. Saturday in the 100 block of South Poplar Avenue. A man told police that another person punched him in the face during an argument. The man also said he pushed the other person in the chest with both hands. Both people declined to file complaints, with the suspect taken to Elmhurst Hospital.
Car burglary

- A woman told police that her car had been rummaged through about 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Jewel, 153 E. Schiller St. A handheld vacuum cleaner was stolen.
