Police Catch Passenger Chewing Cannabis Baggie

Police believe he was trying to destroy the contraband.

Elmhurst, IL - An Elmhurst police officer on patrol saw a man in a car rolling and smoking a cannabis blunt Dec. 9 at North and Villa.

The officer also noticed the man wasn’t wearing a seat belt, according to Elmhurst police, and when he stopped the car, he saw the man was chewing on a plastic baggie containing cannabis, trying to swallow it and destroy the contraband.

Julian D Reedy, 26 of the 0-100 block of Frederick Avenue in Bellwood, was arrested and charged with attempt to obstruct justice, possession of cannabis and seat belt violation, police reported. He was released on bond

Another man in the car, Rory J Harris, 22 of the 100 block of Frederick Avenue in Bellwood, was also found to have cannabis. He was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis and seat belt violation, police reported. He was also released on bond.
