Red Flag Warning Issued for Northern Illinois
Critical fire weather conditions are occurring Monday or will be shortly, according to the National Weather Service.

A red flag warning has been issued for counties across northern Illinois for 10 a.m. through 7 p.m. Monday.
A red flag warning means critical fire weather conditions are occurring now or will be shortly. A combination of low relative humidity, strong winds and warm temperatures could “contribute to extreme fire behavior,” according to the National Weather Service.

Southwest wind gusts of 20 to 25 mph, with wind gusts up to 35 mph, are predicted for the area and relative humidity as low as 23 percent is expected. Temperatures in the 70s are expected for much of the suburbs.
