Roadside Safety Checkpoint Planned In Elmhurst
There is a roadside safety checkpoint planned for Aug. 12-13 on a major roadway in Elmhurst.

ELMHURST, IL — The Elmhurst Police Department is planning a roadside safety checkpoint on Saturday, Aug. 12 and Sunday, Aug. 13. According to a release from the city, the Elmhurst Police Department continues to take part in a year-long grant from the Illinois Department of Transportation that provides funding for additional enforcement of DUI and seatbelt laws. As part of the grant, periodic roadside safety checkpoints will be set up throughout the year.
On Saturday, Aug. 12, a roadside safety checkpoint will take place on a major roadway in Elmhurst, according to the release. The safety checkpoint will begin at 11:30 p.m. on Saturday night and continue until 3:30 a.m. on Sunday morning. During the safety checkpoint, vehicles will be stopped at a predetermined interval and checked for violations.
