BENSENVILLE, IL – Bensenville may keep a police report on a suspected incident near a polling place under wraps until after Tuesday's election.

A week ago, Patch sought a report about the incident, which was believed to have involved a relative of a Bensenville Village Board candidate. The incident was suspected of happening outside the police station, where early voting is taking place.

On Wednesday, the village informed Patch it would respond to the request by Wednesday, a day after the election.

The village said it needed more time to consult the village attorney to determine whether any of the records are exempt from disclosure under the state's open records law.

The village also said that if the documents are not exempt, officials needed to be advised of appropriate deletions.
