State Police Looking for Drunken Drivers in DuPage
Police will conduct a roadside safety check this weekend.

DuPage County, IL - The Illinois State Police will conduct a Roadside Safety Check in DuPage County this weekend.
The check is scheduled between 11 p.m. May 28 and 4 a.m. May 29, according to state police.
Captain Robert Meeder said the check will be held in the eastbound lanes of the Reagan Memorial Tollway (Interstate 88) at Meyers Road.

Officers working the safety check will be looking for people who are driving unsafely, driving with a suspended or revoked driver’s license, transporting open alcohol and driving under the influence.
Alcohol and drug impairment is a significant factor in nearly 40 percent of all fatal car crashes in Illinois, according to state police. Roadside Safety Checks aim to take dangerous DUI offenders off the road.
