Unwanted Cat In Elmhurst Results In Police Call
Police are investigating the cat's situation after it was found.
ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police have handled cases involving an unwanted cat, retail theft, a domestic disturbance, fraud, trespassing, a fugitive driver and vandalism. Here is the information from the latest Elmhurst police blotter:
Unwanted cat
- A cat was found about 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the 400 block of North Willow Road. An officer contacted the cat's original owner, who said she sold the cat online. The new owner told the seller that she no longer wanted the cat. The cat was returned to the original owner. An investigation is pending.

- Two 17- to 20-year-old males stole nicotine vapor devices about 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Elmhurst Food and Liquor, 416 N. York St. One was described as black, 5-foot-9 to 6-foot-2, having an athletic build, and wearing a black hoodie, black sweatpants, and black and gray sneakers. The other was described as white, 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-9, thin, having blond hair, carrying an orange backpack, and wearing glasses, a black hoodie, black sweatpants and black shoes.
- A man stole alcohol about 8 p.m. Saturday at CVS Pharmacy, 110 W. North Ave.
Domestic disturbance
- Police responded to a domestic disturbance shortly before noon Friday in the 400 block of West Verret Street. A female said her mother pushed her during an argument. Officers said they were unable to identify the main aggressor. The mother and daughter were told to separate for the night.
Fraud

- A resident in the 100 block of West Olive Street told police Saturday that he bought a leather bag from an online company. He never received it. Additional investigation indicated the company was fraudulent.
Trespassing
- A resident in the 200 block of East Third Street told police Sunday that her estranged husband accessed her phone without authorization to get sensitive information about their ongoing divorce. She wanted officers to issue the man a no-trespass notice, which they did. An investigation is pending.
Fugitive driver
- An officer tried to stop a blue Infiniti Q50 about 7 a.m. Thursday at Ridge and Fair avenues. The car was suspected of being involved in burglaries of businesses in other towns. The driver sped away.
Vandalism
- A car was damaged between 2:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Friday in the 200 block of North Evergreen Avenue.
