Violent Crimes Up in Elmhurst: FBI Report
The FBI has released the 2014 Unified Crime Report.

The FBI recently released its annual ”Crime in the United States” report, which shows the number of violent crimes reported in Elmhurst in 2014 was almost twice as many as in 2013.
According to the report, Elmhurst saw 20 violent crimes reported in 2014, while in 2013, the city had 12 reports of violent crimes.

Violent crime includes offenses involving force or the threat of force: murder and non-negligent manslaughter, rape, robbery and aggravated assault, according to the FBI.

- 8 rapes
- 6 robberies
- 3 aggravated assaults
- 506 property crimes
- 63 burglaries
- 438 reports of larceny/theft
Nationally, violent crime decreased last year by 0.2 percent from 2013, according to the report.
