York Township Democrat Must Be On Ballot: Judge
Taxpayers will cover the costs of the GOP clerk's "charade," the Democratic Party said.
ELMHURST, IL – A DuPage County judge on Friday ordered officials to include York Township's Democratic supervisor candidate on the April 1 ballot.
In a lawsuit earlier this month, Democrats accused the township's Republican clerk, Tony Cuzzone, of falsely asserting that the resolution nominating Democrat Timothy Murray was not filed within the required timeframe.
Without Murray on the ballot, Republican Supervisor John Valle, who was first elected in 2005, would have glided to a sixth term. In 2021, Valle prevailed over the Democrat with 56 percent.

According to the DuPage County Democratic Party, no one filed an objection to Murray's candidacy for supervisor. The party said York Township taxpayers will cover all the legal costs related to Cuzzone's "charade."
