Auditions for National Children’s Chorus's Chicago Evanston Chapter

Area students who carry a love of singing can explore joining one of the world's leading children's choirs.

The Chicago/ Evanston chapter of the GRAMMY® award winning National Children’s Chorus is holding an audition information session for students, ages 5 to 17, on Sunday, May 18 at 6:30pm. A recording from the session will be available to watch for those unable to tune in live.

The National Children’s Chorus guides students to find their voice and achieve their best through unparalleled vocal training in an extraordinary musical environment. Instructors work weekly with students to develop their vocal skills from the most basic concepts through the college level. Students develop tone quality, breath support, and artistic expression while working together as an ensemble. Additionally, students ages 10-17 can participate in annual international summer tours, a summer youth opera academy, and national concerts at premier venues such as Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center.

Following the video presentation, applicants will then select an appointment time that can be scheduled during the following weeks to meet with one of the NCC conductors for a private video audition via Zoom. There will be a $45 application fee for the one-on-one private evaluation.

Following the audition, NCC will schedule a final parent/guardian phone call with a member of its team to go through details of the program and membership. Rehearsals and classes take place in Evanston on Wednesdays beginning in September 2025. More details are available at https://nationalchildrenschorus.com/auditions.
