New Bakery Bringing Quality And Comfortability To Evanston Community
The owner of Evanston's Paris Baguette said she saw a need for a comfortable place with quality sweet treats in the community.
EVANSTON, IL — The owner of Evanston's newest bakery said she noticed the community was missing something.
Paris Baguette, which opened for its soft launch on June 20 and is celebrating its official grand opening on July 7, aims to fill the need for a comfortable space for busy students and community members. The international bakery brand is set to offer Evanston premium coffee and quality pastries, cakes and sandwiches.
Owner and franchisee Cherie Cheung said she was drawn to Paris Baguette's unique concept that blends French pâtisserie with Korean influence.

Cheung isn't new to the Evanston and Chicagoland food scene, she's owned and operated a restaurant in Evanston since 2017 and debuted her first Paris Baguette location in downtown Chicago in March. While operating the Chicago location, Cheung said she's witnessed first-hand how much the space can mean to a community.
There have been several memorable moments in the few months it has been open, but one that stood out was when an artist visited one day, Cheung recalled.
"We had an artist who was sitting in our café, and he was really having a good time. He actually made us a portrait of our space, and that was really cute," Cheung said. "It only took him a few minutes to draw the whole thing."
With the Evanston location, Cheung said she wants to offer that same personable experience to the north suburbs. Customers can expect to see the warm, welcoming atmosphere that pairs nicely with high quality, freshly baked pastries.
As a mother herself, Cheung said her favorite thing to see while working has been the happy kids coming in and leaving excited.
"We would like our guests to expect consistency and quality, as well as good customer service that should be like with every visit," Cheung said.
On July 7, the grand opening day, customers can enjoy coupons for the popular treats.
