Man Who Killed Over a Kiss Gets 10-Year Sentence

The Evanston man beat another man at a party because the other man wanted a kiss.

An Evanston man was sentenced this week to 10 years in prison for the beating death of a man who said he wanted a kiss at a party, according to an article in TribLocal.

Ricardo E. Munoz was charged with first-degree murder in 2011 for the death of Juan L. Sanchez, 34, also of Evanston. Police said the two were at an Evanston party when Sanchez approached Munoz and said he wanted a kiss. Munoz then punched and kicked Sanchez multiple times.

Sanchez’s friends brought him home and saw him sleeping, but later found him dead.

On Monday, Munoz, 38, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and was sentenced to 10 years in prison, TribLocal reports.
