'May Day Strong' Day Of Action Planned Thursday In Evanston

"We are demanding a country that puts our families over their fortunes," organizers said

EVANSTON, IL — This May Day, local organizers across the nation, including Evanston, are planning a rally to demand more support for workers in the U.S.

Area residents are asked to gather at Fountain Square at 1601 Sherman Ave., at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
The rally is intended to show support for working people and stand against recent actions from the Trump administration to defund schools, privatize public services and target unions.

"We are demanding a country that puts our families over their fortunes—public schools over private profits, healthcare over hedge funds, housing over homelessness," organizers said in a statement.
