School Calendar For 2025-26 In Evanston: Key Dates To Know

EVANSTON, IL — Back-to-school planning is already underway in Evanston, with calendars now available to help parents prepare for the first day of classes.

The first school days for students in Evanston are coming up this month, starting during the week of Aug. 11.

In addition to annual federal holidays, here are some of the important dates to get on the calendar ahead of the start of the 2025-26 school year in Evanston's two public school districts:

Evanston/Skokie School District 65

First Day: Aug. 25, 2025
Parent Teacher Conferences: Week of Oct. 6, 2025
End of First Quarter: Oct. 10, 2025 (No school)
Indigenous Peoples' Day: Oct. 13, 2025
End of First Trimester: Nov. 14, 2025
Thanksgiving Break: Nov. 24 through Nov. 28, 2025
Winter Break: Dec. 22, 2025 through Jan. 2, 2026
School Improvement Day: Jan. 5, 2026
Parent Teacher Conferences: Week of Feb. 9, 2026
End of Second Trimester: March 6, 2026
Spring Break: Mar. 30 to April 3, 2026

As for Evanston's private schools:

• Beacon Academy, 1574 Sherman Ave., begins on Aug. 19, has the same fall and spring breaks as public schools and wraps up final exams on June 4. (Read more)

• Roycemore School, 1200 Davis St., begins classes Aug. 26, starts Thanksgiving break two days later than the public schools but has a longer spring break and finishes the school year on June 5. (Read more)
