Evanston Man Charged With Unlawful Use of a Weapon

Octavius L. Miles, 21, of the 100 block of Clyde in Evanston, was arrested and charged with unlawful use of a weapon in the 700 block of Dobson at 8:32 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, according to police.

Thief Steals iPhone After Woman Faints at Church

Someone stole an iPhone with a black cover and white stripes from a woman who fainted at a church in the 1400 block of Oak Avenue at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, police reported.

Burglaries Reported On Welsey, Elinor

Someone attempted to pry open the door of a home in the 1400 block of Wesley Avenue between 10:15 a.m. and 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, according to police.

Someone stole a Mac laptop computer, cash and purse from an unlocked home in the 1400 block of Elinor Place between 1 and 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, according to police.

Packages Stolen On Elmwood, Custer

Someone stole a pair of black and white Nike shoes that were delivered to an apartment or condo common area in the 600 block of Elmwood Avenue at 4:37 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, according to police.

Someone stole a package after it was delivered to an apartment or condo common area in the 500 block of Custer Avenue between 4:43 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, police reported.

Fishing Poles Stolen From Truck

Someone stole tools, tires and fishing poles from the back of a 1996 GMC parked in the 1700 block of Darrow Avenue between 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, according to police.

Car Scratched On Central

Someone scratched a 2010 Nissan that was parked in an apartment lot in the 2200 block of Central Street between 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, and 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, according to police.
