Unity Church Unveils Digital Museum
Museum Preserves 75 Years of Spiritual Heritage in Evanston

In celebration of its 75th anniversary, Unity on the North Shore is proud to announce the launch of a new Digital Museum, offering an immersive, online exploration of the church’s rich history and enduring impact in the Evanston community. The museum, created in collaboration with digital preservation firm HistoryIT, is now live at unityns.historyit.com.
Founded in 1950, Unity on the North Shore has served as a spiritual sanctuary rooted in Unity teachings and committed to inclusivity, personal transformation, and community service. From its early beginnings in the Walker Building in downtown Evanston to its longtime home on Central Street, Unity has evolved alongside the city it calls home. The Digital Museum chronicles this journey through photos, documents, stories, and milestones—preserving the past while pointing toward a vibrant future.
“This is more than a historical archive,” said Rev. Kurt Condra, Senior Minister at Unity on the North Shore. “It’s a living legacy. Our Digital Museum allows us to honor the people, practices, and powerful spirit that have shaped our community for 75 years—and to make that legacy accessible for generations to come.”

The launch of the Digital Museum comes at a time of meaningful change for the church. Unity on the North Shore is in the process of selling its longtime Evanston property at the intersection of Gross Point Road and Central Street, and is planning a local relocation. While the future site has yet to be selected, the congregation remains deeply committed to staying rooted in the Evanston area.

This new chapter is being guided by the church’s mission: to nurture the divine light within each person and create a spiritually vibrant world. In keeping with this mission, the Digital Museum is part of a larger effort to honor Unity’s past while preparing for its future. That effort includes the “$75,000 for 75 Years” fundraising campaign, supporting both the museum and the transition to a new physical home.
