2 EPCHS Seniors Nominated For IHSA All-State Academic Team

EVERGREEN PARK, IL - Evergreen Park Community High School has nominated Katherine Beyer and James Visser, both seniors, for the Illinois High School Association All-State Academic Team.

Beyer competes in Cross Country and Track and Field for the Mustangs. Visser is on the Golf and Baseball teams. The pair were nominated by EPCHS Athletic Director Jim Soldan. All IHSA member schools are invited to nominate one male and one female student-athlete each year.

Beyer and Visser both have consistently held a 3.5 or higher GPA, which is a requirement to be nominated. Additional criteria outlined by the IHSA indicates all nominees must have participated in at least two IHSA sponsored sports or activities during each of the last two years and have demonstrated outstanding citizenship.

“This is a tremendous honor and I hope every student who was nominated takes a great deal of pride in all that they have accomplished,” IHSA Executive Director Craig Anderson said in a statement.
