EVERGREEN PARK, IL – One of the most popular races in the south suburbs is looking for sponsors and volunteers when the eleventh annual Christmas Without Cancer 5K Run/Walk returns Saturday, Sept. 20.

The highly visible Christmas Without Cancer 5K Run/Walk is the largest and most important fundraiser of the year for the organization. The 2025 race is estimated to attract over 1,200 participants and raise more than $100,000.

For over two decades, Christmas Without Cancer has aided thousands of adults, children and their families across the Chicago area by providing holiday gifts, as well as everyday necessities to local families that are stricken with cancer. The organization quietly identifies and adopts multiple families throughout the year and supplies them with gift cards for groceries, medications, gas, and other “need” items, as well as helping with mortgage payments, rent, tuition, daycare, and travel-related expenses for treatment.
