Evergreen Park Village Board Races Uncontested in April 4 Election
Incumbent trustees James McQuillan, Jeannie M. Olson and Mark Marzullo file to run for the Evergreen Park Village Board on April 4.
EVERGREEN PARK, IL — There are no challengers on the ballot running against incumbent Evergreen Park Village Board trustees in the upcoming April 4 consolidated election.
Every other year in odd numbered years, elections are held for municipal, school, park, library, township and other local governmental bodies. Evergreen Park residents will cast votes for trustees who run village wide.
The deadline to submit nomination petitions for candidates to get their names on the ballot was Dec. 19. Three seats on the Evergreen Park Village Board are up for renewal. The incumbent trustees are running unchallenged, including:

- James McQuillan was appointed village trustee on Jan. 22, 2002. He is a 42-year resident of Evergreen Park and currently lives in the northeast quadrant with his wife and three children. As a trustee, McQuillan chairs the committee on laws and ordinances and works with the other trustees on park maintenance and the youth commission.
- Jeannie M. Olson was born and raised in Evergreen Park, where she attended Most Holy Redeemer School and Mother McAuley High School. She and her husband Michael have 2 children attending D124 schools. She is involved with Most Holy Redeemer Parish. Olson was served District 124 Education Foundation as secretary and president of the Southwest Elementary PTA/Boosters. Olson has a bachelor's from Western Michigan University and an MBA from Loyola University Chicago.
- Mark Marzullo has served the Village of Evergreen Park as a trustee since 1996. Marzullo currently serves as a chairman of the finance committee and is also a member of the public safety committee, and the recreation/youth and senior citizens' committee.
Write-In Candidate
For the consolidated election, a write-in candidate must file a notarized “Declaration of Intent To Be A Write-In Candidate” form no later than 61 days prior to the election. The declaration must be filed with proper election authority, in the case of village board candidates, the village clerk, and the Cook County Clerk, by 5 p.m. Feb. 2. Write-in votes are tallied after the ballots are counted. Only write-in candidates who filed a declaration of candidacy will be counted in an election.
