EVERGREEN PARK, IL — It was a clean sweep for Evergreen Park incumbents in Tuesday’s municipal election. The United Homeowners/Good Government Party candidates for village trustees won by large margins over their challengers.

Kelly Burke won her second term as mayor over challenger William Lorenz, the former village public works director.

Opponents from the EP Community Party faced the daunting task of trying to unseat entrenched incumbents, and campaigned on term limits for elected village officials, Several trustees have held their seats on the Evergreen Park Village Board for several decades.

Evergreen Park trustees are elected village wide. The slate thanked voters for another term on the EP United Homeowners Facebook page.

“Thank you to the voters of EP for reelecting the Good Government Slate! As Mayor Burke said last night, we know there is always room for improvement, thank you for giving this team the opportunity to keep improving EP!”

Of the village’s 14,765 registered voters, 3.281 cast ballots in the April 1 election. Overall, turnout was 22.22%
