Gas Prices Update: Prices Tick Up For Weekend In Evergreen Park
Gas prices remain under $5, but started to slightly climb in Evergreen Park. Here's a look at where to find the cheapest gas around.
EVERGREEN PARK, IL — After four weeks of falling prices at the pump, Evergreen Park residents saw a slight increase Friday heading into the weekend.
In Illinois, the overall average was at $4.28 Friday, up a penny from Monday, according to AAA. The average in Cook County remained above the state average Friday, sitting at about $4.75 per gallon, a drop of 66 cents from a month ago, according to AAA.
The cheapest gas to be had in Cook County is in Franklin Park at Thornton’s, 2640 N. Mannheim Road, and Exxon, 900 S. Arlington Heights Road, Elk Grove Village, at $3.89 per gallon.

Nationally, the average gas price Friday was about $3.92 per gallon. It was $3.18 at this same point last year, according to AAA.
Illinois' gas prices ranked No. 7 in the lower 48 of the county. The Top 5 states in gas price averages Friday were all out west, with California at $5.33, Nevada at $4.92, Oregon at $4.83, Washington at $4.78 and Idaho at $4.67, according to AAA. Arkansas had the lowest national gas price average at $3.43.
