K-9 Called on Palos Park Man During Traffic Stop: Blotter
Evergreen Park police reports, April 3-4.

THURSDAY, APRIL 4
Marijuana Possession
Rojelio Lopez, 21, of the 2300 block of 121st Street in Blue Island, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession drug paraphernalia, according to a report. Police stopped a car at about 10:44 p.m. in the 9400 block of Kedzie Avenue. Lopez was a passenger in the car. When he got out of the car, Lopez admitted to having marijuana. Police also discovered a digital scale and packaging material. The total weight of the marijuana was 4.1 grams.
Cocaine Possession Charge
Alejandro Chavez, 20, of the 100 block of Maple Avenue in Blue Island, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana, according to a report. An officer found a cigar with marijuana in Chavez's sock. He admitted to owning a small amount of cocaine that was found on a rear floorboard.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 3
K-9 Called
Thomas Miernicki, 23, of the 9000 block of 122nd Street in Palos Park, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, improper lane use, failing to signal and driving with an obstructed window, according to a report. Police stopped a car at about 4:39 p.m. near 93rd Street and Western Avenue. A K-9 unit was called after an officer smelled an odor of marijuana in the car. Police found 1.2 grams of marijuana, two grinders, two smoking pipes, two straws with powder residue and a pill bottle with Suboxone, which is used to treat pain. Two Suboxone strips also were found in Miernicki's wallet.
