Mustang Athlete Of The Week: Rocco Cipolla

Rocco Cipolla ran a mile in 4 minutes, 42 seconds and followed it up with a 10:10 2-mile time at the Oak Lawn Invitational on April 15.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL - Rocco Cipolla, a junior star on the Evergreen Park Community High School Boys Track team, is the newest Mustang Athlete of the Week.

Cipolla put forth a dominating performance at the Oak Lawn Invitational on April 15. He took first place in the 1600 meter race, running a mile in 4 minutes, 42 seconds. In the 3200 meter race, Cipolla also finished in first place by running two miles in 10 minutes, 10 seconds.

He was also part of the first place 4x400 relay team at the meet. Cipolla was joined by Tyrell Major, Nate Fernandez and Jakobi Turner in the effort.

Cipolla was nominated for Mustang Athlete of the Week by his head coach, Ray Mankowski.
