Mustang Golfer Colin Kelly Qualifies For IHSA State Finals
His 76 at this week's sectional earned Colin Kelly an opportunity to compete among the state's best this weekend in Normal.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL - Colin Kelly, a senior golfer on the Evergreen Park Community High School golf team, has qualified for the IHSA State Finals as an individual. He qualified during the sectional meet hosted by Lemont High School earlier this week.
Kelly's 76 score Monday at the Wedgewood Golf Course in Plainfield earned him a spot at state. Billy Buchanan, Evergreen Park's other varsity golf captain, also had an impressive performance with an 81.
The IHSA Class 2A state tournament will be held this Friday and Saturday, Oct. 6 and 7, at the Weibring Golf Club in Normal. The event will be hosted by Illinois State University.

Kelly is the first EPCHS golfer to qualify for state since Charley Burns did so in 2021. EPCHS is planning a "clap out" to wish him luck at state at the end of school Wednesday.
Sectional today, so proud of all 4 of these guys. Billy Buchanan shot 81, but Crafty Colin Kelly stole the show shooting 76 & qualifying for STATE! Colin has had an amazing EP career & this is the only way he could end his senior season @Epchs231 @EPCHSAthletics pic.twitter.com/t01gMwHmv4
