Officials Say No to Evergreen Park Pot Clinics For Now
Evergreen Park officials want time to figure out where potential marijuana clinics could go, according to a report.

Evergreen Park trustees approved a moratorium this week on issuing building permits for potential medical marijuana facilities within the village, according to The Reporter.
Issuing the freeze gives the Village of Evergreen Park board more time to approve where marijuana clinics could be located, according to the report. So far, no clinics have come forward wanting to start up in Evergreen Park.
Mayor Jim Sexton said that while the village can’t refuse the clinics, officials can limit where they can set up shop, according to the report

On Jan. 1, Illinois’ medical marijuana law went into effect. The law allows doctors to prescribe marijuana for certain serious medical conditions, so long as the drug is obtained through an approved clinic.
