Primary Election 2022: Early Voting Underway In Evergreen Park

Everything you need to know about early voting, registration and mail ballots for the 2022 Illinois Gubernatorial Primary.

EVERGREEN, IL — If you can't handle the pressure of voting on election day— June 28 —early voting for the Illinois gubernatorial primary is now underway for suburban Cook County voters.

All registered Cook County voters are eligible to vote at a Cook County early voting center. The Cook County Clerk's Office offers additional information regarding early voting centers. Visit Cook County's website to find early voting sites and your election day polling place.

Early voting will take place through June 27. Voters do not need to give a reason why they cannot make it to the polls on Election Day. They only need to fill out an application at the early voting site.

State laws require early voters to provide a valid photo ID to an election official before receiving a ballot to vote early. Valid forms of ID include a current driver's license, a driver's license or state ID, university/college ID or another government-issued ID with a photo, such as a passport.

There are 51 early voting locations in suburban Cook County, including the Bridgeview, Markham, Maybrook, Skokie and Rolling Meadows courthouses. Find a convenient location near you on the Cook County Clerk's website. Early voting sites will be open during the following hours:

  • 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 13 through June 17; June 20 through June 24; and June 27.
  • 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 18 and June 25.
  • 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 19 and June 26.

Request A Mail-In Ballot

The last day to request a mail-in ballot, including military and overseas voters, is June 23, including. The last day to postmark a mail-in ballot is June 28.

Register To Vote

During the early voting period for the 2022 Illinois Gubernatorial Primary (June 13 to June 23), voters can register and vote in person at one of the Cook County Clerk's designated Early Voting locations.

Voters wishing to vote during early voting must bring two pieces of identification to register, including a government-issued photo ID and a piece of mail with a current address, such as a utility bill. Registrants must immediately cast their ballot after registering to vote.

On the day of the June 28 primary, voters who are not registered can register and vote at their home precinct only. Find your home precinct using the voter information tool. Voters planning on registering to vote or updating their address on primary election day must bring two pieces of identification to register, including a government-issued photo ID and a second piece of identification one with a current address, such as a utility bill.
