4 Killed In Shooting On CTA Train In Forest Park, Person Arrested
Service on the Blue Line was suspended in the area during the investigation. The shooting appears to be random, a report said.
FOREST PARK, IL — Four people were killed early Monday in a shooting on a CTA Blue Line train in Forest Park, and one person has been arrested, police said.
NBC Chicago reported the shootings appear to have been a random attack, quoting police sources.
The shooting was reported just before 5:30 a.m. Monday, when police received a 911 call that three people had been shot on the westbound train at the station at 711 Desplaines Ave., Forest Park police said.

Police found four people shot when they arrived, three of whom had died at the scene, police said. The fourth person was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, where they were later pronounced dead, police said.
Authorities were able to get a description of the shooter from video surveillance, and the Chicago Police Department found a person matching the description on a CTA Pink Line Train. The person was arrested and police recovered a firearm, officials said.

None of the victims have been identified, and the identity of the person arrested has not been released.
"This appears to be an isolated incident with no immediate threat to the community," police said.
Service on the Blue Line was suspended between Forest Park and Austin due to the investigation, officials said, but by 10 a.m. service had been restored and there were just residual delays, NBC Chicago reported.

While the trains were suspended, shuttle buses were available between Forest Park and Austin in both directions. Other service alternatives include the #7 Harrison, #50 Damen, or the #49 Western bus, officials said.
"We are working to restore service as quickly as possible. Allow extra travel time," officials said.
