2 Men Suspected In Car, Home Burglaries In Custody: Cops

The men have not been charged, and the case is still under investigation, according to Frankfort police.

FRANKFORT, IL — Two men were taken into custody by Frankfort police early Friday in a possible connection to a series of car and home burglaries in the area, according to the department. No charges stemming from those burglaries have been filed against them, but one of the men has been charged with traffic offenses, Deputy Chief William Dowding said.

According to police, officers noticed a suspicious person at around 1:20 a.m. Friday, March 23, during a routine patrol of the Charrington subdivision. They also saw another suspicious individual waiting in a nearby vehicle, police said.

After talking with the men, officers determined that they planned to look for open garages and unlocked vehicles in the subdivision to burglarize, police said.
