Interactive Cooking Studio Opening In Downtown Frankfort

The new downtown Frankfort business, Whisk & Flame, has already launched its January class schedule.

FRANKFORT, IL — A new culinary experience is opening soon in downtown Frankfort, as Whisk & Flame is set to open its doors in January.

Owner Joe Evans told Patch that the new local concept is an interactive cooking studio and lounge, where guests can take hands-on cooking classes.

"We offer date night classes, friends and group nights out, and private events, with guests cooking at shared stations alongside our instructors and enjoying the meal they make together," Evans said. "Our bar and lounge are also open to the public, even if you’re not attending a class."

Whisk & Flame is located at 10 Elwood St. in downtown Frankfort.

Evans said Frankfort felt like the right fit for a few reasons, including that the community is "family-focused, but still has a strong date night and adult scene."

"We already have strong ties to the community, and it’s a town that really shows up for local businesses and experiences, not just traditional dining. We saw a gap for something that was social, hands on, and could be enjoyed across age groups and abilities," he said.

"Downtown Frankfort also has the kind of walkable, small town feel we wanted," Evans said.

The new business has just launched its January class schedule. Additional classes for future months will be released soon.

"Whisk & Flame isn’t a quick in and out concept. It’s about spending time together, learning something new, and connecting, which aligns really well with the character of the community," Evans said.

Evans said the business also has plans for more events and classes including kids-only classes, birthday parties, special needs-friendly classes, senior citizen days, and mommy and me or daddy and me classes.
