Local Restaurants, Amateur Cooks Invited To Compete In Frankfort's Chili Cook-Off
The Village said local cooks will showcase their best chili recipes, serve samples to event attendees, and compete for top honors.
FRANKFORT, IL — The Village of Frankfort is inviting chili enthusiasts and local restaurants to participate in the Fire & Ice Winter Social Chili Cook-Off, according to a news release.
The annual event will take place on Jan. 31, from 12 to 2 p.m. at Breidert Green.
The Village said local cooks will showcase their best chili recipes, serve samples to event attendees, and compete for top honors in this fun, community-centered event.

Participants will compete in one of two divisions:
- Restaurant Division – Open to local restaurants, bars, and professional food establishments
- Amateur Division – Open to non-professional chili enthusiasts—the popular amateur competition has returned this year.
Attendees will then have the opportunity to sample chili from participating cooks and vote for their favorites. Prizes will be awarded in each division.

“This event is a great way to bring our community together during the winter months,” Mayor Keith Ogle said in a news release. “We’re especially excited to bring back the amateur competition, which has always been a favorite and showcases the creativity of our residents alongside our local restaurants.”
Participation is free, but space is limited. Interested cooks must register by Jan. 17.
