Arctic Cold To Freeze Frankfort: Where To Find Warming Centers
Wind chills as low as 25 below zero are possible.
FRANKFORT, IL — Arctic cold will once again hit the Chicagoland starting Saturday morning through Monday morning, according to forecasters, with wind chills as low as 25 below zero possible.
For those who may be in need, Frankfort operates warming centers at the following locations. Since it's the weekend, some places may be closed or hours may be different so it's always best to call ahead.
- Frankfort Township, 11000 W. Lincoln Highway. 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
- Frankfort Village Hall, 432 W. Nebraska St., 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday; additional hours by request.
Will County Emergency Management Agency also lists all the available warming centers in the county.

That National Weather Service said there is a limited to elevated excessive cold risk from Saturday morning through Monday morning.

"Bitterly cold wind chills as low as 25 below zero are possible Saturday night into Sunday morning" the weather service said.

In Frankfort, temperatures will hit a high of 8 on Saturday, with a low of -7 degrees, according to AccuWeather. On Sunday, temperatures will hit a high of 10 degrees and drop to 0. Temperatures will moderate on Monday, which has a high of 24 degrees.
