Construction On La Grange Road Over Hickory Creek Starts May 1

The project will require traffic to be narrowed to a single lane on La Grange Road, between Lincolnway Lane and St. Francis Road.

FRANKFORT, IL — Construction on La Grange Road, between Lincolnway Lane and St. Francis Road, is set to begin on May 1, the Village said on its Facebook.

The project will require traffic to be narrowed to a single lane, both northbound and southbound, the Village said. The Illinois Department of Transportation project is expected to run through August.

According to IDOT, the project includes the repair of the bridge carrying La Grange Road over Hickory Creek. The $1.4 million project consists of repairing the bridge deck, replacing expansion joints and installing a new deck overlay.

The public can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area, IDOT said in a release. Alternative routes are encouraged. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
